This work goes beyond the ugly and the beautiful looking for terror and fascination instead. The hair is made of glued spaghetti reminding us of B movies' splatter, the subject is also expressing anger and disgust. Revelation is also repulsive, the discovery of what should have been kept hidden. The monster is a warning, the return of what had been dismissed, recalling that Ur dominated world that the Germans cherished. Even before, when Dante wrote: "Turn back, and keep thy face closed. That if the Gorgon show himself, and thou seest him, nothing would be of ever coming back up".
